The Italian language in EuropeBesides being spoken in Italy, Italian is also spoken in:
Croatia: In the region of Istria. Slovenia: In the region of Istria. Malta: An archipelago in the Mediterranean sea, south of Sicily. Monaco: A principality near nice. In most, but not all of these countries, Italian is recognised as an official language. There are approximately 66 million speakers of the Italian language in the world. Italian or its dialects is spoken by Italians and their descendants who emigrated to Canada, the USA, Brazil, Argentina and Australia.
