Introduction
In this section I shall be speaking about some aspects
of the Latin language, but concentrating on the changes that occurred
during the transition from Latin to, in our case, Italian. I examine
the alphabet and the way it changed over time, with the addition of letters
borrowed from Greek and others that were added in Mediaeval times. I
also look at Classical Latin and Vulgar Latin vocabulary and the changes
of pronunciation that have taken place during the transition from Latin
to Italian.
